Course Aim: This course is meticulously designed to provide learners with a comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices essential for safe work in confined spaces, with a specific focus on the use of escape breathing apparatus.

Course Content:

  1. Introduction to Confined Spaces: Defining confined spaces and understanding their unique challenges.
  2. Hazard and Risk Identification: Techniques for identifying and assessing potential hazards in confined spaces.
  3. Learning from Real-Life Examples and Case Studies: Analyzing past incidents to underscore the importance of safety in confined spaces.
  4. Legislation: Comprehensive overview of the legal framework governing confined space work.
  5. Recognizing Dangers in Hazardous Atmospheres/Environments: Identifying and mitigating risks in dangerous environmental conditions.
  6. Code of Practice and Safe Systems of Work: Implementing industry-standard practices and safety procedures.
  7. Hands-On Training with Confined Space Equipment: Practical experience with tripods, winches, confined space harnesses, and escape breathing apparatus.
  8. Effective Communication and Entry Procedures: Mastering communication techniques and protocols for safe entry into confined spaces.
  9. Hygiene in Confined Spaces: The critical role of maintaining hygiene in confined work environments.

Certification:

Participants who successfully complete the course will be awarded an EDS (Essential Driver and Safety Training Solutions Ltd.) certificate, valid for 3 years. This certification demonstrates the learner’s proficiency in safely working in confined spaces, particularly with the use of escape breathing apparatus.

PPE Required: 

Participants are required to wear a Hard Hat, Steel Capped Safety Boots, Gloves, and comfortable clothing suitable for active participation in practical exercises.
