IPAF Operator MEWP Training (Categories 1a, 1b, 3a, 3b)
We are pleased to announce that we now have two IPAF approved MEWP instructors. And are offering the training from our centre
Duration:
1 Day (8:00am – 4:00pm)
Includes classroom theory and practical assessments.
MEWP Categories Covered
-
1a – Static Vertical: Platforms that can be driven in transport position.

1b – Static Boom: Includes van-mounted, truck-mounted, trailer-mounted, or spider booms (cannot be driven when elevated).
-
3a – Mobile Vertical: Scissor lifts.
-
3b – Mobile Boom: Self-propelled articulated or telescopic booms that can be driven at height.
Course Content

Introduction and pre-course theory test

MEWP categories and structural parts
-
Key regulations: ISO 18878, PUWER, LOLER, RIDDOR, WAHR, MHSW

Pre-use inspection and handover
-
Safe operating methods and hazard awareness

Theory test and practical training

Practical assessment

Licence renewal and logbooks

Course evaluation
Certification
Successful delegates receive:

IPAF ePAL Digital Licence & Certificate (valid for 5 years)

Photograph taken on-site and included in the course cost

Optional physical licence available for an additional fee
Trainee Requirements

Minimum age: 18 years
-
Must be medically fit to operate machinery
PPE Requirements
Trainees must bring:

Hard hat
-
Safety boots
-
Hi-visibility vest
-
Harness and adjustable restraint lanyard

Anyone who operates or manages the operation of MEWPs, including:
